Stipend

  1. During the training period Trainee Marine Engineers will be paid stipend of Rs.25,000/- per month plus victualing allowance Rs. 600 per day, Trainee Electrical Officer will be paid stipend of Rs.25,000/- plus victualing allowanceRs.600 per day and NCV(T)s will be paid stipend of Rs.10,000/- per month plus victualing allowance Rs.405 per day.

  2. Candidates selected as Trainee Marine Engineer and Trainee Electrical Officer will have to execute a Bank Guarantee of Rupees Three lakhs or the same amount to be deposited with DCI to serve DCI for a period of five years after completion of requisite training period and obtaining CoC (applicable to Trainee Marine Engineers) or posting as ELOs(applicable to TELOs).

  3. Notwithstanding anything mentioned elsewhere in the Advertisement, Management reserves the right to relax the eligibility criteria and engage/induct the candidates based on their suitability.

  4. The period of onboard training will be 18 months for NCVT, 06 months for Trainee Marine Engineers and 08 months for Trainee Electrical Officers. The training may be extended /curtailed based on the Corporations/ DG Shipping requirement.

Selection Process

  1. The selection is based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification mentioned above and performance in Interview for Trainee Marine Engineers and TELOs. For candidates who have completed Graduate Marine Engineering, prescribed qualification for calculating percentage of marks will be based on four-year Degree in Engineering.

  2. Total marks for selection – 100 marks

  3. 80% weightage will be given for marks obtained in the prescribed qualification and20% weightage will be given for interview.

  4. Minimum cut-off marks for Gen/OBC candidates: The selection is 50% each in prescribed qualification and interview(i.e., 40 marks out of 80 in prescribed qualification & 10 marks out of 20 in interview).

  5. Minimum cut-off marks for SC/ST candidates: The selection is 45% each in prescribed qualification and interview (i.e., 36 marks out of 80 in prescribed qualification & 9 marks out of 20 in Interview).

  6. The Selection for NCV(T) is based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification mentioned above for NCV(Trainee). 50% weightage will be given for marks obtained in SSC/ 10th Class and 50% weightage will be given for GPR Exit Examination.
